CEREC Crowns

Crowns In a Single Appointment

Why Choose CEREC Crowns?

Crowns are used to repair large fillings or cover broken teeth and root canals.

At Akron Smile, we use metal-free CEREC crowns to restore and reinforce damaged teeth.  The latest CEREC technology allows us to color match, design, custom fit, and cement your porcelain crown into place – all in one day.

  • Repair damaged teeth
  • Replace missing teeth
  • Reinforce heavily restored teeth
  • Prevent future fractures
  • Improve aesthetics of your smile
  • Relieve pain caused by fractures or damage

Real Transformations with CEREC Crowns

Most dentists use a traditional crown method that requires two to three appointments, an uncomfortable temporary crown and the use of an outside lab to design the crown. Not here. Beyond the benefit of a single appointment, the results speak for themselves.

The CEREC Crown Process

  1. Design Your Crown
Create a 3D image customized to every detail of your tooth.
  2. Make Your Crown In-House
Carve an exact replica out of a solid ceramic block.
  3. Prepare the Area
Numb the affected area and remove any decay.
  4. Place Your Crown
Cement your crown to your tooth and finish with a cleaning.

Answers to Common Questions about CEREC Crowns

We want you to feel confident about your decision to get a CEREC crown. Get the information you need before your procedure.

What exactly is a crown and what does it do?

Crowns are a full-coverage, 360-degree restoration solution for damaged teeth. We recommend crowns for teeth that are likely to break in the future or for teeth that are too damaged to be corrected by a composite filling.

Why would I need a crown?

There are a variety of reasons why a crown might be a part of your oral health treatment plan:

  • A crown is sometimes used when a large cavity or filling exists or if you have a tooth that’s had a root canal that needs further reinforcement.
  • You might have a discolored tooth that you want to brighten up, but a Veneer just isn’t the right choice.
  • Cracked or excessively worn teeth can sometimes need crowns.

Why do you use CEREC crowns?

CEREC Crowns save our patients time and keeps them from discomfort. We believe this is the best procedure to protect a tooth against a potential fracture.

We also use CEREC crowns because designs are precise—every part fits in harmony with adjacent teeth. That means minimal—if any—adjustments are needed after placement.

The color is also impeccable—CEREC crowns look incredibly natural and are matched to your tooth color.

How long will the procedure take?

Our CEREC crown process only takes one appointment. Typically, the procedure takes between one and one and a half hours.
