Answers to Common Questions about Pediatric Care

We want you and your child to be as comfortable as possible at our office. Here are answers to a few questions we hear from first-time visitors.

Do you see kids at your dental office?

Yes, we do! We’re a family-centric practice and we love offering dental care to children. All of the team members at Akron Smile have kids of their own, so we understand what makes a successful pediatric visit.

When do I need to start bringing my child to the dentist?

The AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry) recommends children begin seeing a dentist by their first birthday. We definitely want to see kids once all of their teeth have come in – no later than 2 years old.

Why is it so important to keep baby teeth intact?

When baby teeth stay in place, space is kept for permanent teeth to emerge. It keeps a healthy order in your child’s mouth.
